Irida Hasalla, 28 years old, passed away after the intervention performed by the doctors at the 'American 2' hospital for the removal of fat, although she had cancer.
The media have provided the death certificate, while a preliminary autopsy is expected to be performed as to why the young woman died.
The police have started the investigation regarding the case after the family members filed the complaint. It is reported that family members and doctors who participated in the operation were questioned.
The doctors who were interrogated stated that they followed all the standard rules that are carried out for similar operations, however, the prosecution requested that all movements and tasks that were performed be verified from the moment the girl went to perform the intervention, until when he passed away.
The complete documentation of the intervention, including the medical record at the hospital and other materials important for the investigation, which is in its initial phase, have been seized.
"Yesterday, on 30.01.2024, a notification was received that in a private hospital, after an operation, the citizen IH, 28 years old, living in Tirana, died. After receiving the notification, at the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, the group was set up investigation and the first procedural actions have been carried out such as the autopsy, the questioning of the family members, the questioning of the doctors and the anesthetist who participated in the operation. The materials will be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for actions further procedural", the police announced.
