The former head of KMSH, Skënder Bruçaj, spoke today about the inauguration of the Namazgja mosque by Turkish President Erdogan and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Invited to "Syri TV", Bruçaj said that the great mosque was built with the funds of Turkish citizens and not with the funds of the Turkish state, adding that it was not elegant that politics entered this inauguration of the mosque.
"The desire of KMSH to build a big mosque was in 1938, but we had no economic opportunity, then the permit came in 2012, the permission to build the mosque. In 2014, I was the head of KMSH and the construction permit was handed to me and we were free to find a donor.
We had an agreement with the Muslim Community of Turkey that Namazgjaya will be built and donors raised about 10 million dollars. It was chosen that the construction of that mosque would be done with the funds of the KMT and with the money of the Turks, and the agreement was to build the mosque and hand it over.
That speech that was held more was for the Turkish public than for the believers in our country, but it is not elegant that politics was introduced in this inauguration of the mosque. The speeches were out of context and in 2014, when I left the head of KMSH, the mosque was 95% finished," said Bruçaj.
