Artan Lame passed away today in Munich, Germany at the age of 58, following a heart operation. He died after coming out of a coma.
Two years ago, in March 2023, after leaving the post of director of the State Cadastre Agency, Lame described his departure from this post as a birthday present. During his speech, Lame said that he needs to focus on himself and his health.
"Tomorrow is my birthday, and it's also the anniversary of that health event I had a few years ago. I consider this retreat a birthday present, as I need to focus on my health and myself for a while," he said at the ceremony introducing his successor to this post.
Artan Lame has held important positions, including as deputy minister and director of the Cadastre and Legalization Agency.
He is known as a publicist, researcher and one of the most well-known civil society figures in the protection of Albanian cultural heritage.
