"The SafeJournalists Network condemns the threatening message sent to Albanian journalist Osman Stafa, following his reporting on the conditions and service failures at the Tirana Oncology Hospital," the response states.
After continuous complaints about the lack of medicines and equipment at the Oncology Hospital, a threatening message has been sent to Journalist Osman Stafa, with the aim of intimidating, scaring and withdrawing him from investigations at this hospital.
Through an anonymous address on social media, journalist Stafa was addressed with banal, insulting and threatening language, asking him to no longer appear in the Oncology facilities and to desist from denouncing corruption and abuse of patients.
After receiving the message, News24 journalist Stafa went to the State Police, where he filed a criminal report for threats in connection with his duties. Authorities have launched investigations to discover the person responsible and who is behind this threat.
