The Special Court of Appeal has postponed the decision on the former mayor of Bulqiza Lefter Alla until May 30.
The reason was the request of Alla's lawyer, who asked for the dismissal of judge Dhimitër Lala.
Alla has appealed the decision of GJKKO. The former mayor of Bulqiza Lefter Alla and 8 other people were declared guilty by the Special Court, for the charges of abuse of office, violation of equality in tenders and forgery.
Alla was sentenced to 3 years in prison, but due to the shortened trial, she will eventually serve 2 years of imprisonment.
Together with Alla, the vice-president Enkelejda Lleshi and 11 others who have been identified as: Rubin Kola, Erion Isaku, Leonard Daci, Arsen Gjoka, Kujtim Zogu, Denis Xholi, Rasim Daci, Dalo Gazidedja Aqif Konesha, Kastriot Ibrahimaj, Ana Nišku.
In cooperation with each other, it is suspected that they have committed illegal actions in awarding a tender worth 3 million euros for the construction of a Waterworks in the city of Bulqiza. The municipal tender directed by Alla was won by a company BOE England which is thought to have been favored during the procedure. But the works were carried out by another company, OE 2AF Albania shpk, a social connection of the Mayor.
