The mayor of Kuçova is about to be dismissed, the CEC decides today for
Kreshnik Hajdari

The Central Election Commission will meet today to decide whether Kreshnik Hajdari will be dismissed or not.

The Greek justice has conveyed to the Ministry of Justice the decision that the mayor of Kuçova, Kreshnik Hajdari, has been convicted by the court of Ioannina, while he said in the self-declaration form that he is not convicted.

The Central Election Commission will meet today to decide whether Kreshnik Hajdari will be dismissed or not.

The court in Ioannina has found Hajdar guilty of entering the Greek territory illegally and sentenced him on June 23, 1999 with "re-educational measures of reprimand", since in that year, the elected mayor was only 17 years old.

According to the decision of the Greek justice, the defendant Kreshnik Hajdari, at that time with the status of a worker, was present in the judicial process.

The request to the CEC for the verification of the purity of the image of the mayor of Kuçova was submitted to the CEC by the "Together We Win" coalition, and the verifications were carried out by the General Prosecutor's Office.

It is now up to the CEC, at the meeting scheduled today at noon, to assess whether this data is included in the limitations of the decriminalization law, which could even risk the mayor being fired.

Also, it will be expected whether or not the prosecution will launch an investigation for "falsification of the self-declaration form"

Meanwhile, in Albania, Kreshnik Hajdari does not appear to have been convicted nor to have changed his name, according to official documents from the Civil Registry and the Directorate of Prisons.
