Aurora Polo has been appointed as commanding director of RTSH.
Polo replaces former director Alfred Peza who resigned some time ago.
Polo was previously the director of Albafilm, as well as the deputy general director of Albanian Radio Television.
We remind you that former director Alfred Peza resigned on September 6 of this year. Peza resigned with a text that he sent to the Governing Council of the Albanian Public Radio and Television.
The text of the resignation is understood to be formal, where it shows that he was dedicated to work to move things forward, but the puzzle seems to be hidden elsewhere.
Dear Sirs, Pursuant to law no. 97, dated 04.03.2013 "On audiovisual media in the Republic of Albania and the decision of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania no. 98, dated 22. 12. 2016 "On the approval of the statute of RTSH"; I present to you the resignation, in an irrevocable manner, from the position of General Director of RTSH. Thanking you for your cooperation, with respect, General Director Alfred PEZA", says the letter submitted to the RTSH Governing Council.
It is said that there are investigations into the transactions and developments that took place in this public media institution, and these very reasons became the reason for the resignation from the management of RTSH.
Peza was elected at the head of RTSH in June 2023, but immediately clashed with people within the institution after removing a large number of comedians and creators, which created controversy and accusations.
Only in the first months, when he was appointed, the captain started to remove people from work with a drop of the pencil, reaching up to 300 laid off, whom Peza took out on the street.
All those dismissed from work, with the decisions of the writer of horror novels, Enkelejd Lamaj, whom the captain has appointed Legal Director, are automatically winners of the trials that open for unilateral termination of employment contracts. Each of them will win, after the trial, a compensation of at least 20 salaries, which is damage to the state and will be paid from citizens' taxes. It is learned that the court has started to give justice to many of the employees.
The financial damage that Captain Alfred Peza causes to the state is estimated at millions of euros.
