Jeton Lami, former police officer of the operational forces, has been released from prison.
Lami is accused of abuse of office regarding the escort of the much-wanted Ervis Martinaj.
His release from the cell was made due to the completion of the sentence of 2 years and 10 months of imprisonment, given by the court of Lezha for the charge of "Abuse of duty". This sentencing decision has recently been upheld by the Tirana Court of Appeal.
But due to the full serving of the prison sentence, the Court of Appeal has reportedly ordered the cancellation of the security measure "prison arrest" imposed at the end of August 2022 against Jeton Lam.
It is learned that currently the former officer of the operational team "FAST" in the State Police is free.
Jeton Lami was the last person and policeman who, on the night of his disappearance in August, transported Ervis Martinaj from Tirana to Vorë in an "Audi".
