The former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako, was released from prison this Friday, after completing the remaining days of serving his prison sentence.
Dako left the Durrës prison cell early this morning.
Dako had returned to his prison cell after being admitted to Durres Hospital due to health complications. He was admitted on September 16, the day the Special Court of Appeal decided to confirm his sentence of 2 years and 8 months in prison, a decision that ended a lengthy judicial process.
According to official calculations of the time served, Dako had only six days of solitary confinement left to serve after the decision was confirmed by the Appeals Court, as he had spent most of his prison time in detention and house arrest.
