Interior Minister Taulant Balla has announced the suspension from duty of two police officers who investigated the case of a 26-year-old woman in Vlora who was drugged and raped by several people days ago.
In addition to being suspended from duty, the two policemen Ervis Cipa and Ornela Hajrulla with the duty of Crime Investigation Specialist at the Vlora Police Station, have been banned from leaving the country.
AMP and the Prosecutor's Office of the General Jurisdiction of Vlora have investigated the actions of the state police regarding this case and have reached today's decision of the Court of Vlora.
Balla writes that the reason for this decision is the delay in carrying out full investigative actions. According to him, this is unforgivable and cooperation with the perpetrators is even more serious.
"The case of sexual violence and inciting the use of narcotics against a girl in Vlora was a serious event, for which justice must do its duty at the level of the expectations of the general public opinion. As I have been engaged since the first moment after I was informed about this event, I have requested the verification of the actions of the Vlora Police regarding this shocking event. For this purpose, the Police Surveillance Agency and the Prosecutor's Office of the General Jurisdiction of Vlora have investigated the actions of the state police in this case, leading to today's decision of the Vlora Court to suspend two employees of the Police Directorate and ban them from leaving the country. . The delay in carrying out full investigative actions from the first moment is inexcusable and even more serious cooperation with the perpetrators. That is why I have said and will say it every day that the increase in the performance of the State Police is inseparably linked to the process of self-cleansing, to eradicate once and for all from the healthy body of the State Police the harmful elements incriminated or violators of the law. ethics, who tarnish the hard work of the majority of the State Police who serve with unwavering determination the rule of law and the protection of the citizens of this country" , Balla announced.
