Activist Ilir Xhemalaj stated from the protest held in front of the Parliament that, according to him, there were attempts to stop the rally, but stressed that citizens will continue to demand justice and political change.
In his speech to the protesters, Xhemalaj said that the protest is a reaction of citizens to the situation in the country.
"Today there was an attempt to quell the protest. Today the Albanian people have come out and demand justice ," he said.
The activist further accused the government of expelling Albanians from the country, saying that the protest is also being held on behalf of family members who, according to him, have been forced to emigrate.
"For those lives you have taken from us, for our brothers and sisters who we have taken from Albania. We are here and we ask for only one word: resignation," declared Xhemalaj.
