
Italy has made some changes to the fiscal package related to immigrants who work in its territory, but come from countries outside the European Union and the Schengen area.
Until now, just like Italian citizens, immigrants in Italy benefited from tax deductions when they had children and spouses who resided outside Italian territory.
From next year, this support will no longer be possible for immigrants, who are from countries outside the European Union and the Schengen zone.
(The discount was 800 euros for incomes up to 15,000 euros, 690 euros for incomes up to 40,000 euros, based on which the actual amount is calculated, which decreases as incomes increase.)
About 4.6 million foreigners work in Italy, of which 3.4 million are from countries outside the European Union, i.e. 74%.
In 2023, as shown by the tax data of the Ministry of Economy reworked by the Moressa Foundation, they declared 52.7 billion in income.

As for Italian citizens, who have worked outside their homeland and lost their job there or have ended their seasonal contracts, they will no longer benefit from economic assistance to the unemployed.
