SPAK yesterday closed the investigations into the President of the Free Party, Ilir Meta, who is currently in prison, and his ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi.
After this, their file is expected to be taken to court for trial. Meanwhile, we recall that Meta and Kryemadhi are not the only opposition members who will sit in the defendant's chair, the trial of the opposition leader, Sali Berisha, is also expected to begin for the "Partizani file".
Regarding this, analyst Martin Leka said on "News Line" that this shows a progress in justice, where all those who have committed violations against the law and the people are receiving the punishment they deserve.
"Here we must welcome the only revolution that has happened in Albania in recent years, which is SPAK. About 70-80% of the population believes that the culture of impunity is collapsing. The fact that the president of the SMI is facing a genuine indictment, the fact that the leader of the DP is under investigation for the partisan affair, shows that there is a change in the situation in the justice process.
"The head of the Municipality of Tirana, even though he is under investigation with unclear charges, shows that justice has moved away from political influences. This shows that everyone will face the law for the damage they have done to the people. The justice system has had its impact on the belief and support for the justice system," the analyst said.
