The Democratic Party has no evidence of manipulation of the May 11 parliamentary elections, while Sali Berisha not only no longer inspires hope, but is holding the party hostage for his personal interests.
The main reason why Albanians do not vote for this opposition is precisely that, as they remember all the "deeds" in 30 years and the way it behaves, such as the events with pyramid schemes, 1997, Gërdec, or even January 21.
This was stated in the studio of 'Today, Live in Albania' by analyst and journalist Ilir Yzeiri.
The analyst analyzed the pre- and post-election situation, the DP's claims of election manipulation, but also the policies regarding justice reform, the economy, and the country's social factors.
"How can Albanians come after you, when you only burn chairs in Parliament and create chaos. No one trusts Berisha anymore, he no longer inspires hope and is holding the DP hostage for his personal interests," Yzeiri said, among other things, in his analysis of the opposition's behavior after May 11.
Regarding the allegations of election manipulation by the majority, he added:
"Regarding the May 11 elections and Berisha's claims of vote manipulation, it seems that he and the DP have no proof for what they say. But some phenomena were noted, where less than half of Albanians voted. The electoral process must be said to be the most controlled, there were no significant problems. while it was noted that 60% of Albanians rejected the political class . "
He also raised concerns about other areas, especially criminal policies with justice reform, where there are things that need to be further reformed and corrected, because there are problems that have already been clearly identified.
"A penal system has been built here where you can go to prison just for a word of mouth. They are seeking the votes of Albanian emigrants around the world, but the question is whether our state is interested in them, in those who suffer in prisons around the world. Without excluding economic problems. These are the issues that need to be discussed in this country, civil society needs to be given a voice and discussed realistically," the analyst said.
But what is the reason that Albanians did not vote for the opposition PD-ADSHM, which also received the worst historical result in the May 11 elections?
"You say why don't they vote for the opposition? (addresses the moderator). How can they vote for a man who has been speaking and behaving in the same way for 30 years. With what he has done and how he behaves. How can you vote for a man who did Gërdec, 1997, January 21 or even the Pyramids. Can Albanians vote for him when they remember the loss of money?! They gave him another chance in 2005 by bringing him back and he killed them again, did Gërdec and January 21. Tell me how can Albanians vote for this opposition..?", Yzeiri concluded his analysis.
