The Dossier Authority has reacted before today's decision of the Court of Appeal, which upheld the decision that compels the prosecution to investigate the charges against Ilir Meta.
The latter was accused by the Authority of being a Security spy, but the head of PL sued for abuse of office. The prosecution stopped the investigations, but the Court of Tirana overturned the decision and demanded that AIDSSH investigate how it came to the conclusion that Meta was a spy.
The prosecution appealed and the Appeal upheld the decision of the first instance today, which means that the File Authority must be investigated. To date, this authority has not made the file public. Meanwhile, there was also a reaction a little while ago, where it is requested from the prosecution to appeal to the Supreme Court.

The Authority for Information on Documents of the former State Security declares that it is awaiting a reasoned decision and assures the public that in its activity it applies the constitutional principles and the special law that regulates its institutional activity, as well as respects the principles of separation of the powers and competencies that each institution has.
In principle, as in any case where the decisions contain obligations for the Authority, the Authority acts by implementing the obligations determined by the court or appeals the decisions to the higher courts.
The Authority appreciates the following of the same path by other institutions, according to their competences, and is open to cooperation with all institutions in accordance with the law in force of the Republic of Albania", the Files Authority emphasizes .
AIDSSH itself does not yet say when it will disclose Ilir Meta's file, although the law was approved and there are no obstacles.
