The Ministry of the Interior has requested that nitrogen balloons be declared illegal.
In a letter addressed to the Health Commission, Minister Taulant Balla states that from recent police operations, concern has been noticed about the use by young people of substances in the form of gases such as N2O, nitrogen and carbon dioxide.
According to medical experts, it is further said, these subjects bring health problems. Given that these substances are not currently classified as narcotic or psychotropic substances, there is a need for their inclusion in the list attached to the law "On narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances", as amended.
Some time ago, the police took action to stop them, but the law itself does not prohibit it and it is impossible to punish those who sell them. It is expected that with the legal changes there will be punitive measures.
