An explosion near the apartment of journalist Sigfrido Ranucci, a name known from television investigations and an investigation trail that crosses the Adriatic to Miami. According to La Capitale News, the October 16 assassination attempt on the host of the "Report" show is taking on new developments, while investigators are deepening what they call the "Albanian trail."
The focus of attention is Artur Shehu, 58 years old, an entrepreneur originally from Albania, mentioned in several journalistic investigations as a figure with suspected links to organized crime environments in his country. He currently lives in the United States, in Miami, Florida. According to investigative sources cited by Italian media, the Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate (DIA) has also received information from Vlora about the 58-year-old's possible involvement in the explosion that occurred in Rome.
The Anti-Mafia Prosecutor's Office in Rome, with prosecutors Ilaria Calò and Carlo Villani, in collaboration with the carabinieri of the relevant investigative units, is working to reconstruct the dynamics of the event. The investigation aims to identify the material perpetrators of the placement of the explosive and any possible responsibility at the level of the orderers.

The report dealt with the project of centers for migrants built by Italy in Albania, in Shëngjin and Gjadra, within the framework of the bilateral agreement between Rome and Tirana. The name of Shehu was also mentioned in that show, placed in a network of relationships and interests that, according to the program, included Albanian political and institutional environments.
In Raitre's broadcast, the 58-year-old was described as an entrepreneur mentioned in international investigations for suspected links to organized crime structures, including references to Cosa Nostra and Sacra Corona Unita. Also, according to the journalistic reconstruction, Shehu would have donated 30 thousand square meters of land near Vlora to a foundation linked to General Fabrizio Lisi, at the time head of Interpol in Albania. Italian media reported that the mediation of this initiative would have been done by lawyer Enjell Agaci, secretary general of the Council of Ministers in Albania and associate of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Shehu's name has also been mentioned in the American press. In March 2021, the Miami Herald published an investigation into his activities and life in Miami Beach, describing his interests and network of relationships.
Italian authorities are verifying all these elements, comparing information collected in Albania with possible data on Shehu's movements and contacts in the U.S. At this stage, there are no formal charges, but investigators are analyzing whether there is a concrete link between the television investigation and the assassination.
According to La Capitale News, the investigation remains open in several directions. The show "Report" has dealt with sensitive issues such as the mafia, corruption and international trafficking over the years. Authorities are also examining an episode from last summer, when unidentified people tried to enter the journalist's second apartment, to assess whether it is a matter of ongoing pressure.
In this context, the "Albanian track" is currently considered one of the main directions of the investigation, but not the only one. The goal of the authorities remains the complete clarification of the incident and the identification of any possible responsibility. /Pamphlet
