The fire in Mount Dry has gotten out of control. The burnt area has not only expanded inside the national park of Prespa, but has passed to the other side of the Dry Mountain above the village of Peshkpi of the Municipality of Pogradec, risking the burning of large areas with low vegetation.
It should be noted that today there was an increased commitment of the forces to contain the flames inside the national park, but according to the fire service, the only way to extinguish the fires is intervention from the air, which has been missing for two days.
Unofficial sources said that only after two days the intervention from the air via Greek and Bulgarian helicopters is expected, after requests addressed to these two countries.
In North Macedonia, the fire has been reactivated, therefore the fire service is unable to help extinguish the flames in the Prespa National Park.
