Journalist Glidona Daci has discovered other details regarding the case of the 42-year-old woman who threw her baby into the river. She said that the woman declared that she was born alone and the child had no signs of life, so she also wrapped it in a plastic bag and threw it into the Tapiza river.
After the serious act, she testified that she returned to the apartment and continued with the daily household chores until she lost consciousness.
It was the older daughter, 21 years old, who was alerted and took her to the hospital, where it was established that she had given birth.
After being asked by the doctors about the baby, the woman did not speak and this caused the police to be alerted by the hospital.
On the other hand, her husband and the other four children said that they did not know that the 42-year-old was pregnant.
"There was very contradictory evidence. After the birth of the child, where she emphasizes that she was alone, she claims that the baby was born without signs of life and she put it in a plastic bag and threw it into the Tapiza river. After that she returned home and started the daily household chores. At one point, he lost consciousness and the older daughter, 21 years old, took him to the hospital. The doctors found that she had given birth and was asked about the baby and refused to talk. This has caused the hospital to alert the police. After the insistence of the police, she later showed where she threw the baby, always claiming that the baby was born without signs of life.
The husband, but also the other children, deny having known that the 42-year-old woman was pregnant. It should be noted that they lived in poverty and the only one who worked was the husband who worked wherever he could find work. Two of the children were still in school. She has been arrested for killing the baby and the expertise will reveal whether the baby was really born without signs of life or was suffocated later," she told News 24.
