In addition to the cases of foreigners, even the world-famous Albanians have torn a piece of the "cake" of the goodness of the Albanian government.
Photos of well-known and powerful people from all over the world, posted by Prime Minister Edi Rama visiting Albania for vacation, always seem to hide behind "secret" agreements!
All these agreements are hidden behind the now common excuse of the Prime Minister, that they came as a result of the tourist boom that has engulfed Albania in recent years, thanks to the investments of his government.
But the truth of these visits to Albania lies far from what the prime minister says. This is because almost all important political and public figures, who have visited our country and have been 'used' by Rama to promote tourism in the country, have received much more in return.
Starting from the visit of the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, to the city of Vlora, on August 14 of the year we left behind. Prime Minister Rama sold the visit of the Italian counterpart as a "victory" for tourism on the Albanian coast, but the behind-the-scenes of her visit would come out months later.
In exchange for the "promotion" of the Albanian coast, Meloni managed to secure two centers in the city of Lezha, to accommodate illegal immigrants trying to reach the shores of Italy. It turned out that 3,000 immigrants would come to these centers every month and somewhere around 36,000 a year. The project would be financed by the Italian government, the land where the camps would be set up would be administered by the Italians, while Albania would not gain anything in return.
Another case was the visit of the daughter of former President Donald Trump together with her husband, Jared Kushner, to the south of Albania. Through the mediation of his friend Richard Grenell, on July 26, 2023 Rama met Trump's daughter and son-in-law, where he took a photo with them, selling it as a form of promoting tourism.
It took several months for us to hear even the whispers of this meeting. Trump's son-in-law's two visits to Albania turned out to be to reach an agreement with the Albanian government to take the island of Sazan and invest $1 billion in luxury hotels and resorts.
Another well-known case is that of the visit of the head of the "Eagle Hills" company, Mohamed Alabbar, who, after visiting Albania and several meetings with Rama, managed to obtain a plot of land of 812,600 m2 in the Port of Durrës in which he will develop his project "Durrës Yachts & Marina". An agreement that was accompanied by accusations of a lack of transparency on the most sensational project of recent years in the coastal city.
In addition to the cases of foreigners, the world-famous Albanians also took a piece of the "cake" of the kindness of the Albanian government. The most flagrant case was that of the singer Dua Lipa, who in recent years has been seen promoting the Albanian coast. But apparently Dua Lipa's frequent visits with her father to Albania and meetings with Prime Minister Edi Rama and Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj seem to have a hidden, camouflaged purpose, beyond what was sold in the media as beauty promotion natural of the Albanian coast. This is because Dukagjin Lipa, the father of the famous singer Dua Lipa, joined the list of strategic investors last year.
He was announced as an investor in the area of Fier and Lushnja where he will build a photovoltaic park with a production capacity of 100 Megawatts/hour.
But not only that, even the visits of our strategic allies to our country seem to have nothing to do with us. To prove this, it is worth recalling the recent visit of the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and that of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Both meetings had no value for Albania. On the contrary, with the idea of bringing armaments and producing ammunition for Ukraine to our country, we were exposed to the Russian danger like never before. The only one who benefited among the Albanians from these two meetings was Prime Minister Edi Rama, as in every high-level meeting mentioned./ Pamphlet
