In the last two years, more than 1,000 drivers have had their licenses revoked, due to traffic violations or involvement in road accidents.
As required by law, after these drivers have lost all 20 points on their license, they are forced to take a retest. But data from the General Directorate of Road Transport Services show that after that 13 percent of those who are re-tested manage to get their license.
Out of 1 thousand and 24 drivers who took the exam to regain their license in the period June 2022-March 2024, only about 133 drivers managed to regain their driving license. This massive delay also shows the real problem of the high number of accidents in the country.
We remind you that according to the current system, every driver, at the moment he acquires the right to be equipped with a license, simultaneously benefits from a total of 20 points.
For every mistake he makes, the points are reduced to zero. After that, the driver must register again at the driving school to be sub-added after the tests.
