As of today, passports and IDs are produced by the state; the government lied, the price does not change

Starting today, identity cards (ID) and biometric passports of Albanians will be produced by the new state company "IdentiTek", while the contract with ALEAT ended on July 31, 15 years after its signing, and was not renewed.

The distribution of new coupons with the "IdentiTek" logo has started at all points of the Albanian Post. The media reports that for the passport application, there are only coupons worth ALL 7,500 and the coupons for fast passports have not yet been released 2 or 3 days.

With the change of the two companies, there will be no price changes to be provided with a new ID or a biometric passport. For a passport with a standard production period of 15 days they have to pay 7,500 ALL, while in an accelerated period of only 2 or 3 days they have to pay 18,000 ALL, while for the production of an identity card they need 1,500 ALL.

The official logo of the company "IdentiTek" has the eagle symbol, but integrated into an electronic chip, an image of the company's mission itself.
