The Universal Service Provider (USP), part of OSHEE Group, has launched the implementation of a new facilitation scheme for the installment payment of arrears from electricity bills, incurred until December 31, 2024.

The scheme includes all categories of FSHU clients, while special attention is paid to families in need. According to the official announcement, family clients who benefit from economic assistance, head of household pensioners and persons with special status will have the opportunity to enter into agreements for the repayment of obligations created until December 31, 2025. The minimum payment for this category starts from 1,200 lek per month, provided that no new obligations are created for the year 2026.

Meanwhile, other family customers can pay their overdue bills in monthly installments starting from 2,800 lek for obligations incurred until the end of 2024, respecting the condition that they do not have new debits for the period 2025–2026.

According to OSHEE Group, to guarantee an affordable scheme for clients, the maximum number of installments can reach up to 240, while each client has the right to choose an installment higher than the minimum to complete the repayment of the obligation more quickly.

Both budgetary and non-budgetary institutions will be included in this scheme, where the number of installments will be determined based on the value of the obligation. For obligations from 100 thousand to 500 thousand lek, up to 24 installments are foreseen, while for obligations over 10 million lek, up to 120 installments can be reached.

A special scheme is also provided for corrective invoices, summary invoices or cases of meter and accumulated energy testing, which can be paid in up to 24 installments.

OSHEE Group has also approved significant reductions in late payment interest for clients who choose to immediately repay the entire obligation. Family clients benefit from a 70 percent reduction in late payment interest, non-family clients 50 percent, while small businesses benefit from full forgiveness of late payment interest if they immediately settle the obligation.

To benefit from these relief schemes, customers must have first repaid the obligations incurred during 2025 and beyond. After signing the agreement, the first installment must be paid within seven days, while payments then continue every month until the debt is fully repaid.

According to OSHEE Group, these measures aim to make it easier for citizens and businesses to meet financial obligations, while simultaneously maintaining the company's financial stability and the quality of electricity supply services.
