The economic expert, Beskida Aliaj, clarified the agreement on the recognition of pensions between Italy and Albania.
According to her, if you are in an insured job and have practiced this profession both in Albania and in Italy, all the years of work will be credited to you, that is, wherever you have worked in these two countries.
"An Italian immigrant may have worked in Albania for 10 years and arrives in his country, where he works for another 10 years and in total is called 20 years of work. Thanks to the agreement, it will be called 20 years and according to Albanian law you must have a minimum of 15 years of work to receive a minimum pension, while in Italy it is 20 years of work with insurance. Each of the states will give a pension for those 10 years that he worked in each state", said Aliaj.
Meanwhile, the second benefit is how much seniority you have as an individual in Italy.
According to this, if men have completed 42 years and 10 months of work and women have completed 41 years and 10 months of work, they can automatically retire even before they have reached the age of 67.
"The second case is that Italy grants a pension based on seniority, where if the citizen has 42 years and 10 months of contributions in Italy for men and 41 years and 10 months for women, they can retire at any age. They can retire at the age of 57 if you have worked for 45 years", explained the expert.
The expert also clarified that each country will give its own contribution as long as the citizen has worked in that country.
Regarding the application, if this application is made in Albania, the pension will be transferred from Italy and vice versa.
For those people who have passed the retirement age, Aliaj says that the law has no retroactive effect.
"The number of beneficiaries is 200 thousand immigrant contributors, out of the total, which is 700 thousand immigrants who are in Italy, not all of them are of retirement age, we have contributors even at a young age, while according to INSTAT there are 25 thousand pensioners per year" , Aliaj told Top Channel.
