3 police officers at Police Station No. 1 in Tirana have been suspended from duty due to animal violence that occurred in a private garden. A child was barbarically beaten by the teacher, breaking his leg, but even though the parents called the authorities, there was no response from the police.

The Director General of the State Police, Chief Madhor Muhamet Rrumbullaku, has just been recognized through footage broadcast yesterday evening, in the investigative show "STOP", for the event that occurred in a private kindergarten, a case for which the family members of the injured child accuse investigative structures of Police Station No. 1, Tirana, that they have not performed the appropriate legal actions, has immediately ordered the Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police, to initiate an administrative investigation, with the aim of verifying the standard procedures performed by Police employees.
From the preliminary verifications carried out by the Directorate of Professional Standards, it has been found that the investigative structures have carried out procedural actions and have referred the materials to the Prosecutor for evaluation within the deadline set by the law, but it has been established that the actions were not fully carried out as the inspection was not carried out of footage from the cameras located in the garden premises.
The review of the footage recorded by the garden cameras was done after the broadcast of the case, in the investigative show "STOP", and the additional materials were sent to the Prosecutor's Office on 06.11.2023.
At the same time, after consultation with the prosecutor, the procedure has started in a free state, for the citizen of MD, with the duty of guardian in this kindergarten, as a suspect for committing the criminal offense "Mistreatment of minors".
At the end of the verifications carried out by the Directorate of Professional Standards, the disciplinary investigation for a serious disciplinary violation, provided for by Article 209 of the State Police Regulation "Serious violation of the attributes/competencies of the Police" was initiated and the suspension from duty was made, for police officers:
Commissioner RD, acting as deputy head of Police Station No. 1, Tirana;
Deputy Commissioner Y. Ç., acting head of the Crime Investigation Section, in Police Station No. 1;
Deputy Commissioner EB, with specialist duties in the Crime Investigation Section, in Police Station No. 1.
The General Directorate of the State Police thanks the staff of the investigative show "STOP" for their cooperation and for denouncing cases of illegality. The State Police invites the media and citizens to report cases of abuse of duty by Police officers, guaranteeing a harsh reaction to them, because the process of self-cleansing from the ranks of the Police is very important for the State Police and the Ministry of the Interior. of employees who abuse their duty and the law.
