The statement made in the courtroom by one of the witnesses confirming that Fredi Beleri bought votes in Himare is clarified.
The witness, Ermal Ajdini, head of the police station in Himare, has shown how he cooperated with the infiltrator, Arsen Rama, and as he said that according to the information he had, Beleri promised the citizens not only money, but also a residence permit in Greece in exchange for the vote. .
Ermal Ajdini: In January 2023, I was appointed head of the police station in Himare. Arsen Rama was introduced to me by a police colleague. At the end of April 2023, he called me and told me that votes were being bought for Alfred Beleri. After receiving this information, I did my verifications for a week and it turned out that the information was true. Then I informed my superiors, who told me to inform the prosecutor about this matter. Afterwards, Arsen Rama has decided to cooperate with the prosecutor, to do the stimulating actions. As far as I know, he has signed a cooperation agreement. Then I received an order from the prosecution to start the actions and I contacted Arsen Rama to carry out all the stimulating actions. Rama and his family lived in Himare, but then they expressed their concern that they were threatened and sent to Vlora.
Ermal Ajdini: I got to know Arsen Rama during February of this year. I had his phone number because he has previously cooperated with the police on other matters. From February to April, I met him 2-3 times. After we have completed all investigative actions, I have prepared the referral in the office and sent it to the director of Vlora. I also sent Arsen Rama there. In the information we had, in addition to money, citizens were also promised a residence permit in Greece.
Question: Are you aware that Arsen Rama received a reward from the police?
Ermal Ajdini: To my knowledge, yes, as it is a legal procedure. For more information, contact the local police department of Vlora with a request.
Fredi Beleri : Are you aware of wiretapping without the authorization of the prosecutor?
Ermal Ajdini: Not to my knowledge, all interceptions were carried out with the authorization of the competent bodies.
Fredi Beleri : Did you have an order to spy on my entire electoral office?
Ermal Ajdini: We intercepted the subjects authorized by the prosecutor.
Fredi Beleri : How many lists has Rama submitted?
Ermal Ajdini: He submitted the list you told him on the phone, one to the office, one copy to us. I don't remember the list names.
We remind you that Beleri has been behind bars since May 12. He was arrested two days before the local elections, from which he emerged victorious with a small margin of votes, in the confrontation with the socialist Jorgo Goro.
Despite this, Beleri, who is in custody in Durrës, has not yet been able to take the oath as mayor, as justice has rejected his request to be released from prison at several levels. / A2 CNN
