Former President of the Republic, Alfred Moisiu, has been discharged from "Mother Teresa" Hospital, where he was admitted a few days ago for medical treatment, following heart concerns.
The news was officially confirmed by the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center (QSUT), which through a public response announced that the medical intervention was successful and that the former head of state's condition is stable.
On February 5, after specialized consultations, doctors from the arrhythmology service decided to implant a dual-chamber pacemaker in Moisiu. The device serves to regulate the heartbeat in cases where its rhythm is slow or irregular, guaranteeing more stable cardiac functioning.
According to medical sources, the former president was suffering from atrioventricular block, a disorder that causes a slow heartbeat and is mainly related to age. After the intervention, his health condition appears to be improving and out of danger to his life.
Doctors indicate that Moisiu will continue medical follow-up in the coming days, according to standard protocols, while he has returned to a stabilized state of health.
