Albanian judges, prosecutors and investigators participated in an FBI-led training in Budapest, focusing on online child exploitation.
The United States Embassy in Tirana has reacted regarding its commitment to strengthening the capacities of Albanian institutions to combat cybercrime and the exploitation of children online.
According to the official announcement, the Embassy supported the participation of Albanian judges, prosecutors, investigators and judicial police in a specialized training led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The training took place at the United States International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Budapest.
During this program, Albanian officials joined experts from various European countries to discuss the spread of child exploitation materials on the Internet, ways of distributing harmful content, and the latest developments in the field of cyber investigations.
The training included practical knowledge on cyberstalking, victim identification, cyber exploitation, and other cybercrime-related offenses. According to the U.S. Embassy, these skills aim to better prepare law enforcement and judicial structures in Albania to identify, investigate, and prosecute individuals who use the Internet to harm children.
"There is no greater responsibility than keeping our children safe," the Embassy's response states, emphasizing that cyber threats and online exploitation of children are a growing concern globally.
