Lawyer Romeo Kara has commented on the issue of the mandate of the president of the Constitutional Court, Holta Zaçaj.
According to him, the law clearly states that his mandate ends on March 10, 2025 and not at the end of 2025, as Mayor Zaçaj insisted.
As for the involvement of politics on this issue, Kara dwells on the attacks that Berisha made today against the Supreme Court by defending Zaçaj. Kara says that the president of the Constitution may have been supported or encouraged by this part of Albanian politics.
"This case does not leave the possibility of passing into an irony of fate, that the Constitutional Court itself and its president, wants to make an interpretation from the Venice Commission. This is clear, there is no ambiguity in legal expressions. In this case it was only Berisha who hit, hitting Sokol Sadushi. In addition to denigrating him by name, he also demanded an account for starting the vacation procedure. He intervenes and advises on legal procedures even though he has the biggest legal experts around him. It may have been supported or encouraged by this part of Albanian politics. It's good that he understood and withdrew," said Kara on Report TV.
