Arlind Qori of Lévizje Bashke said that most of those pensioners who are protesting today were DP or SP voters.
Invited to "Opinion" on News24, Qori said that today we have a transversal dissatisfaction, as people see that we have scandalous pensions in Albania.
"72% of pensioners receive a pension less than the vital minimum, so they would die for bread, if we didn't have family solidarity. The minimum pension in Albania is 25% of the average salary and this is outrageous. This government has failed in the framework of the vital minimum," said Qori.
He said that the issue of pensions is not an electoral issue, as we have collected the signatures for the minimum living wage in Albania.
"The category of pensioners protesting shows commitment and a high sense of sacrifice. Do you know that pensioners who go out to protests are pressured on their children?
A pensioner who came to the protest stopped me on the street and said: when I come to the protest, I also wear a hat, because my son works for the state and they pressure him with his son's workplace, so he wears a mask.
We are in 2024, are you afraid of the protest? This is not democracy", said Qori.
