Protests against Ulaj resort, resident: Fatmir Shpellzaj intervened in the

Residents of the village of Rrjoll in Velipojë held a protest today in front of the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK), opposing the construction of a tourist resort in the area by businessman Bashkim Ulaj. The protesters are demanding an investigation into how the properties where the project is being developed have been benefited.

One of the residents of the area, Luçjana Kokaj, in an interview for "Report TV", stated that the residents have filed several reports with SPAK regarding this issue. According to her, at the center of the accusations is Fatmir Shpellzaj, who claims ownership of the land where the resort is being built.

Kokaj said that previously the residents filed a lawsuit against Shpellzaj for abuse of office and falsification of documents, while recently they have filed another complaint, requesting more in-depth investigations. The resident emphasized that, in this matter, the judges who signed the ownership decisions should also be investigated.

"We have filed a report with SPAK and we hope that this time the issue will be treated seriously, as it is not just about one person, but about a group that has robbed residents' properties ," she said.

Kokaj also claims that Shpellzaj has also interfered with the village cemetery to support his claims over land ownership. According to her, he has changed the tombstones and claimed that his relatives are buried there.

"We were told that he brought the bones of his great-grandfather in a blue van and placed them in the village cemetery to justify his claims to the property," said the resident, adding that according to her, this is an attempt to occupy the residents' lands.

They are asking SPAK to investigate the entire ownership process and court decisions that led to the construction of the resort in the area.
