The heavy rains and storms that have engulfed Italy are expected to arrive in our country tomorrow
The Institute of Geosciences has warned the 5 main regions of the country for rain that can bring localized flooding, so they must take measures.
Based on the information of the Institute of Geosciences, during the next 24 hours there will be rain all over the country. In the districts of Shkodër, Lezhe, Tirana, Fier and Vlore, there may be rapid flooding of small mountain rivers and landslides. In urban areas, there will be a problem with localized flooding, depending on the condition of the sewers.
For the above, based on Law 45/2019 "On Civil Protection", an increase in the readiness of all structures to deal with emergencies caused as a result of rain is required.
The following issues should be followed with priority:
1. Timely and continuous reporting to the National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies.
2. Preliminary assessment of the situation as well as planning for support, always based on priorities: protection of human life, national assets, cultural heritage, critical infrastructure, etc.
3. Increased vigilance and timely response of operational structures.
4. Follow-up on the ground by the emergency sectors at the local level.
5. Notification of the population that may be affected by the emergency and activation of emergency evacuation plans and activation of evacuation plans if necessary.
