Once the rapper Rigels Rajku, known as Noizy, introduced himself with "30 vets". But over the years, the teenager fighting for a fistful of money in London realized that the path of violence had no future. As he climbed the music career ladder, he became more selective and chose to appear with characters of a certain position in public. Among them, the weakness of Noizy, the mayor of Tirana, Erjon Veliaj, stands out.

In one of the stagings of the campaign on May 14, before they filled the plates with food in a social center with the cameras on, Veliaj called Noizy an "icon of Albanian youth" and a boy who has walked "with work and talent" in life.

After the elections, the author of "100 kilos" raised the level of authority he had. He appeared at the stadium in the company of Edi Rama, to watch a football match. The Prime Minister shared the photo with Noizy making the eagle symbol with his hands, while as it turned out later, the police intensified investigations against a gang that had blown up the rapper's bar in Durrës with a tritol.

There is no doubt that Rigels Rajku is among the favorite rappers in the Albanian rap music industry. Public support for heads of state is not free. A few months ago, the Municipality of Tirana financed with 50 million lek the promotion of his new album "Alpha" in the concert that was held in "Mother Teresa" square.

But in an interview with the British media Express, the rapper Rigels Rajku, known as Noizy, confessed details from his past in London. From the first steps of adolescence when he faced the racism of the British through the words "Don't sit here because you are a refugee, go back to your country, we don't want you here". Then he told about the time when he participated in paid duels, or how he created the group OTR (On the run) and how he solved through violence the problems with bullying and other London gangs until returning to Albania and success in the music industry.

Far from being the reserved man he is today, Noizy confessed that when he was young he was forced to react strongly to cope with life on the streets of London.

"The only way to survive in England is to be strong," he said, while talking about the beginnings of OTR.

"We were the first Albanian group, formed in 2001, we were only 10 people at the beginning, all boxers. The group became bigger and bigger as more [people came from Albania]. I was the leader because I had come at the age of 10 and learned the little things [that were important]; how to dress, speak [and] be more "British" showed Noizy.

British journalist Zak Garner-Purkis also points out the change that the London street fighting champion has undergone since his youth.

He describes Rigels Rajk today as a family man, non-smoker, who enjoys keeping fit and managing his many business interests, including a clothing line, restaurants and hotels.

But while talking about OTR, the journalist reveals details that are only whispered about in Albania.

Police intelligence reports several years after Noizy's departure suggest that they (OTR) did just that. A Bromley Council report on local gangs from 2012 said that information gathered by the force showed that "the Albanian OTR gang is no longer operating as a street gang and is instead operating as an organized criminal network to supply drugs and to commit robbery" writes Express.

So the British see in Noizy the man who created a real criminal gang. The gang went from street fights to drug trafficking and are suspected of organizing robberies in London.

"Noizy says he chose not to sell drugs or get involved in organized crime, the journalist explains, but his music does not condemn this way of life" writes Express.

In Noizy's rhymes, you often find threats of murder, the use of weapons, messages about drug trafficking or even robbery, as is the case when he mentions the number 53.

Fans say that this number is a code for one of the biggest robberies in Great Britain, when 53 million pounds were stolen and some Albanians were part of it.

Most likely, Rama and Veliaj know the history of violence that follows Noizy, because the rapper does not hide his past.

But these do not prevent both of them from promoting him as an Albanian "icon of youth" and as a success story. It must be said that the singer has always been honest with his audience.

Even in the interview for Express, he explained that in the texts where he brags about drug trafficking and other crimes, he does not describe his life, because he left London in time. But the lyrics, he says, are the words of a persona he adopts when rapping.

The problem is with the politicians who promote the "gangsta" model of the young Albanian in real life. The same way they did when they introduced into parliament pimps of prostitutes, murderers and drug traffickers, people who promoted them as success stories and who today, still use them as models to maintain power. / Lapsi.al
