Journalist Artan Hoxha has commented on the situation of cultivation of narcotics in Albania.
Hoxha indicated that during this year there was a great effort to crack down on cannabis from the north to the south of the country.
He stated that there was a significant area with narcotics, as according to him the growers wanted to "capture the tourist season". According to him, this increase in cultivation is also influenced by the increase in the price of the narcotic substance itself. Hoxha also revealed that in Albania there is an increase in the amount of "grass houses".
" This year there is a big effort to crack down on cannabis from north to south. Monitoring by helicopters is being carried out. I believe it will stay until November. The helicopter has more detection capabilities because it flies slower.
The hotspots of cannabis cultivation are now known. The discovered area was very large. This also affects the increase in the price of cannabis in the market. Growers wanted to capture the tourist season for sale. The subject will be sold either to tourists or abroad. Bar houses have grown in size within Albania as well ," he said.
