Klodiana Lala has spoken about the resignation of Muhamet Rrumbullak as director of the State Police and the "race" that has opened for his replacement.
Invited to the show "Te Paespozuarit" on MCN TV, Lala said that Rrumbullaku was not a leader caught by crime and that he was forced to resign. She indicated several names of candidates who can replace her.
"Mr. Rrumbullaku, with all the shortcomings that a director may have, I have created the conviction that he was not controlled by organized crime. I think that Mr. Rrumbullaku was among the most accepted candidates, despite the fact that his photo of the couple was used. He made a forced resignation, due to the pressure that organized crime made on Albanian politics, but there was a war of clans, Mr. Rrumbullaku will open a big and problematic hole .
One of the police officials, when I asked him, told me that I am not running, because he said that I am not in the group of favorites. At one point, he jokingly tells me, Edi Rama thinks he will choose the director of the police to fight crime, but it is crime that he is choosing...
I wish him to be honest and with integrity. However, I have seen names of good officials in the race. Whoever comes will be strongly anathema.
You mentioned Mr. Prençi, he is one of the candidates, he has a long career, I don't see him as a favorite either. He says it meets the criteria of the law and therefore says it should be.
Another candidate, Gentjan Shehaj, in my opinion, with great integrity, is in the academy. It is Sami Rasha, he was the director of SHKB at that time, currently he is also in the academy. Another, Ardian Çipa, who is currently in Gjirokastra.
Ilir Proda, director of Elbasan, is also a candidate. Adriatik Tafçiu, I was told, is among the favored candidates, there is an agreement between the parties. Another is the current director of Durrës, Skënder Hita. Some of these I see as having integrity, but I do not define this. The name of Mr. Nallbati is also mentioned, but so far there is none.
