An attempt to hold a civic protest in Përrenjas ended without participation, as almost no one responded to the call to gather in the square. Only one citizen showed up at the rally, who mocked the lack of residents by declaring that " the residents here have no worries or problems."
He said he had thought about addressing the head of the local government with some messages, but the lack of participants made it impossible. Following this, the citizen ironically thanked those who were following him from the surrounding cafes.
"Good evening, I'm glad you came. Actually, you didn't come, but that's okay, we came. We came to greet you, we said that like all of Albania, we would organize a protest here in Përrenjas. I'm from this area. But apparently you don't have any worries or problems at all. I had thought about saying a few words to Nuri, but I can't tell him because you're all at work.
However, we thank you very much for looking at us from the coffee shop like this. We will definitely thank the state police. Thank you very much. I also wanted to tell you something. If someone asks you why, where was Vilson Blloshmi or Genc Leka or Petrit Blloshmi from, do not tell them that they were from this side. Because they will tremble in their graves. Do not tell them that they gave their lives for this side. Thank you", said the citizen.
Meanwhile, the 16th consecutive protest against the government is expected to take place in Tirana today. According to them, the rallies so far have registered high participation and have served as a starting point for similar protests abroad.
Demonstrations have taken place in several European cities where the Albanian community lives, as well as in the United States. Participants have called for the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the organization of free elections, linking their mobilization to political developments in Albania.
Organizers claim that the wave of protests is expanding beyond the country's borders and that diaspora participation is becoming an important element of political pressure on the government.
