Ervis Shkurta, is the operative who was put in handcuffs today after being suspected of being involved in drug trafficking. Short has long been associated with criminal groups involved in the trafficking and sale of narcotics.
On Thursday evening, when as part of the anti-drug operation there was also a clash between traffickers and police forces, Skurta was close to the scene and as soon as he saw that his colleagues intervened, he notified the other criminal group who were waiting to take the cocaine to leave quickly.
His name came out after the analysis of mobile phones where the agents found conversations between the arrested and a person identified by the name 'Visi i Pazari'.
The latter was connected to an English number in the mobile applications with the arrested persons where they communicated about the goods and amounts of lek.
Meanwhile, checks continue to find Ervis Shkurta's mobile phone with an English number. Another person is wanted as being involved in the drug trafficking scheme.
Interrogated by the investigative team, the officer has denied being connected to criminal groups, but the evidence so far shows that he had long-standing acquaintances with criminal groups and was involved in the exchange of drugs benefiting large sums of money.
Sources from the investigative group said the officer's role was to ensure the exchange of drugs and money between criminal groups.
