Isolated for three months in his apartment, due to the measure of 'house arrest' imposed by the court, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has sent an appeal to the Supreme Court where he seeks his freedom.
Through the lawyers, Berisha opposes the tightening of the security measure from mandatory appearance and ban on leaving the country to house arrest, left in effect by the Special Court of First Instance and the appeal of the GJKKKO.
The appeal was registered three days ago on 20/03/2024, where the relator judge is expected to be Sokol Binaj, but a date and time for reviewing the appeal has not yet been set.
Since last December 30, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha is under house arrest. This has caused him to file an appeal in the Supreme Court, requesting the removal of the measure that has isolated him in the apartment for 3 months.
