The municipalities of Fier, Patos and Mallakastër are in a difficult situation this Saturday, as the fires have appeared one after the other.
Multiple fires have been activated during the afternoon and dozens of fire brigades are on the ground fighting the flames.
There were at least 11 active fire outbreaks during today's day, where the most problematic remains the one in the Darëzeza forest, where with the darkness it becomes impossible not only to intervene with firefighting equipment, but also from the air.
Meanwhile, it is known that several fires are currently active, where the one in Dërmenas of Libofsha is among the most problematic. There, the flames are approaching a cattle stable and houses in the area.
The burning of waste in the area known as "Office" in Patos also caused a massive fire that burned a significant area of olive and fruit trees.
At the scene to neutralize the flames are fire engines, Fier police services, and several groups of Rapid Intervention Forces.
The situation continues to remain critical, while the residents of the area, alarmed by this situation, claim that the quick intervention of the fire services made it possible to remove the danger from the houses and oil wells.
The flames also engulfed the electrical substation, where DSO Patos was forced to cut off the electricity as a necessary safety measure.
"Due to the fire very close to the Patos Substation, OSSH has been forced to cut off the electricity, as a necessary safety measure. In the meantime, the fire brigade has been notified," OSHEE announces.
The situation thus remains extremely critical in the village of Margelliç, where the fire first appeared in the place called "Menca 3" next to the hill. The strong wind favored the rapid spread of the flames, endangering homes and a gas deposit.
Meanwhile, a fire has been activated this Saturday evening on an area of agricultural land in Karpen i Shijak.
According to the information provided by the scene, the fire brigade has not yet arrived to work on extinguishing the flames, which are spreading rapidly due to the strong wind.
The Interior Ministry, Taulant Balla, has also reacted to the fires.
"We are following the situation in the Municipality of Patos, the village of Margelliç, where the fire is being fought, which has reached extremely large proportions. The firefighting forces of Patos, Roskovec, Fier, the Albpetrol company are working in several directions to protect residential areas, while forces have also been sent from Lushnja, Vlora and Berati. The State Police has sent many FNSH officers, while arresting the suspected author of this arson", writes Balla on Facebook.
