AMP has reported the scandal with the TIMS system to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana.
The report comes a few days after the US embassy raised concerns about the data leak.
The chargé d'affaires of the American embassy in Tirana, Martin McDowell, in a meeting with the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, expressed the concern of the USA regarding the breach in the TIMS system in the State Police, demanding a quick and complete investigation.
McDowell also expressed to the minister that the US is ready to support the Ministry and the Albanian State Police in their investigation.
Two weeks ago, it was reported that the personal data of Albanian citizens were stolen. This is a big scandal as it turns out that these data were stolen from within the system and specifically from a process initiated and directed by the Director of the Department of Technology and Information, Ervin Muça, appointed to this post in recent months.
