"We have no way to get home"/ Residents of Kanina protest again,

Residents of the village of Kaninë in Vlora have returned to protest after several days of temporary suspension of works on the construction of the Vlora bypass, expressing their concern about the road blockage. They accuse the company carrying out the works of cutting off all access to private lands and homes, leaving them isolated.

The protest began a few days ago and although the Minister of Defense, Piro Vengu, intervened to suspend the works, they have resumed without warning and without any official communication with the residents. This has further increased their anger.

"We are forced to take to the streets. We no longer have a road to enter our homes, our lands are blocked and no one is giving us an explanation," they say, emphasizing that even after the minister's intervention, no concrete solution has been offered and the works have continued as planned.

The situation is becoming increasingly tense, as citizens demand transparency and an immediate solution that respects their rights to access private property.

The residents of Kanina have warned of an escalation of protests if the authorities do not take urgent measures to resolve the situation. They are demanding a fair and sustainable solution that will allow the bypass works to continue, without violating their fundamental rights and without leaving them isolated from their properties and homes.
