Investigative journalist Adriatik Doçi, invited to the show "Top Story" on Top Channel, said that the tension in the parliament is a reflection and concern of the files in the Special Prosecutor's Office.
He said that SPAK has launched investigations into some media oligarchs who are closely connected with political interests and are building resorts in the south of Albania.
The Special Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office has followed a kind of strategy, according to the journalist, who emphasized that in the first years it attacked criminal groups throughout Albania, then opened the files of politicians and the third files that are being opened are of some media oligarchs.
Duma: Have there been economic confiscations, has SPAK... do its files go beyond politics? In economic assets beyond politics?
Doçi: I believe that the commotion and smoke in the parliament is a reflection of the hot files that are currently in the hands of SPAK. SPAK has followed a kind of trend, surveillance, following the Romanian strategy, in the first two years they hit criminal groups throughout Albania, we have also had millions of euros of assets seized, I am going to return the assets, despite the fact that they are not assets of corruption, drug trafficking or other crimes. After the attacks of the criminal groups, SPAK opened the files of politicians and the political dome, never in the history of Albania have there been more politicians, officials and former officials under investigation than today, former ministers, half of the government cabinet, former - the prime minister, the president. I see the turmoil in parliament as a reflection and concern of the SPAK files. The commissions of inquiry have been there, there have been endless commissions of inquiry, I can point out that a commission of inquiry was also set up for an ear pull.
Duma: Who are the files that are not known and you have info and the general public does not yet have?
Doçi: An order is being followed, organized crime has been hit, the corruption of the political dome is being hit, the third files that are being opened are of some media oligarchs, i.e. some bosses of media that are closely connected with political interests and are building resorts in the south of Albania, are receiving tenders, controlling a list of companies, are being investigated for corruption and money laundering. After politics, the so-called media and non-media oligarchs closely connected with politicians and former ministers are being hit, some of them have also appeared in the file of a former minister, such as the former minister Arben Ahmetaj, names of businessmen, oligarchs of closely connected with the media and the national media.
Duma: Are they being investigated?
Doçi: They are being investigated by the SPAK, after the opening of the main files for the investigation of former ministers, i.e. the corruption files, the SPAK is moving into a phase of third that are different businessmen. It is about some businessmen who control the national media in Albania, who have extended their activity in construction, in certain institutions, who control companies and who do real estate to get tenders, concessions, public properties, construction permits with towers.
