Hundreds of thousands of citizens have gathered for the 40th time in front of the Prime Minister's Office building. They repeated the slogans "Rama, resign!", "Down with the government" and "Albania belongs to the citizens."
The 40th protest has begun in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, where thousands of citizens have gathered to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Like never before, today marks 40 days of continuous protests, without stopping.
Protesters, who came from different cities in the country, gathered on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, holding banners and articulating calls against the government. At the center of their demands remains the non-negotiable resignation of the prime minister.
They repeated the slogans "Rama, resign!", "Down with the government!" and "Albania belongs to the citizens."
The rally is attended by civil society activists, representatives of the initiative known as the "Pink Flamingo Revolution", as well as citizens who have supported the protests held in recent weeks.
Organizers have warned that the protest will continue with speeches and public appeals, emphasizing that the mobilization will continue until their demands are met.
During yesterday's protest, one of the organizers, Arben Kola, gave a harsh speech against Prime Minister Edi Rama. He called on citizens to boycott the concert of singer Kanye West, scheduled to be held in Tirana, and then used strong statements against the head of government.
" Continue to disrupt the algorithm and boycott Kanye West along with Ramovic, who has gone crazy and we hope that he will soon jump off the terrace of the Prime Minister's Office and Albania will be saved. Maybe tomorrow, when it's 40, we'll eat the halwa and be saved. Maybe tomorrow he decides to jump either from the charter that is coming from Turkey, or from the terrace of the Prime Minister's Office."
"The best of the best was like they do in Western countries or in India, where the body is burned and the ashes are sent somewhere, to another continent. So that we don't have his ashes, his bones on our land. Our country doesn't need a devil like Rama, neither on earth nor under the earth ," said organizer Arben Kola yesterday.
