The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, stated today in Parliament that the investigations into the "Eco Park Durrës" project, worth around 19 million euros, are nearing completion.
However, the question that remains pending is whether Prime Minister Edi Rama will also be investigated, following allegations of conflict of interest related to the architectural studio of Rea Rama, his wife's daughter.
During the annual report to the Laws Committee, Dumani explained that the case was registered as a criminal proceeding by SPAK itself, before the opposition's complaint arrived. " The criminal proceeding for 'Eco Park' is in the preliminary investigation phase. From the information I have, the investigations are nearing completion ," Dumani said, adding that the opposition's subsequent complaint has been included in the existing file.
His statement came after direct questions from opposition MPs, who sought clarification on one of the most talked about projects for favoritism and direct links to power. According to them, public funds have been diverted to focus on a company with family ties to the head of government, which constitutes a flagrant violation of the law on conflict of interest.
