The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has seized the apartment of the former mayor of Lushnja, Fatos Tushe. Earlier, he was convicted for abuse of office and violation of equality in tenders.
According to SPAK, during the time he was the Mayor of Lushnjë, Tushe did not declare the 75 square meter apartment in Lungomare Vlorë, property which is registered in the name of a company that operates in the field of construction, but which is owned by Tushe. .
We remind you that the former mayor was found guilty during an investigation by SPAK, due to abuse of office on tenders, and was sentenced to three years and four months in prison, as well as the removal of the right to exercise public functions for 5 years.

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime is conducting investigations within the framework of criminal proceedings no. 199/1, of 2021, (separated from criminal proceedings no. 199/2020), for the criminal offense "Refusal to declare, non-declaration, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants or any other person who has the legal obligation to declare", provided by article 257/a/2, of the Criminal Code, in charge of the citizen Fatos Tushe, ex-Mayor of Lushnjë Municipality.
After conducting investigative actions, at the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with Decision No. 136, dated 29.02.2024, decided:
Acceptance of the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime;
The determination of the property insurance measure "preventive seizure", provided by article 274 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, on the immovable property identified as "Property No. 40/267/4+1-21, ZK 8602, property type "apartment", with an area of 75.3 m2, located in Lungomare, Vlora".
The Financial Investigators and Judicial Police Officers of the General Directorate of the State Police have taken measures to execute the Order of the Special Prosecution dated 03.04.2024, issued on the basis of the above criminal decision taken by the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.
From the preliminary investigation carried out in the framework of this criminal proceeding, it was found that the person under investigation, Fatos Tushe, during the time he held the office of the Mayor of Lushnje, did not declare the apartment in Lungomare Vlora, property which is registered in the name of a company operating in the field of construction, but owned by the person under investigation.
From our side, the procedural actions for proving the accusation in the investigation continue.
