Through a VKM, the government has set new reference prices in the 32 cadastral areas of the city. Their revaluation was not done since 2016. The tax that the citizens of Tirana will pay on their water bill will now vary with an increase from 236 to 2600 lek per year in the most expensive areas.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, the lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu analyzed the increase in the expenses of Albanians, while he said that every Albanian must pay 300 euros per year for an apartment.
" From tomorrow, Albanians will be poorer because per year, with the current law alone, the state will collect 200 million euros in taxes from a property that they enjoyed from their father, bought from their grandfather, with property, by inheritance, forbearance or by purchase. For these reasons, a law completely lacking in transparency, unjustifiable even for the services offered to citizens, cannot a priori be tripled. To triple for the houses when they live because for the second houses or the beach houses the tax goes higher than three times. Albanians must understand that after this not only their pockets will be heavier, but also the cost of living in every corner of Albania will be difficult. Not only that, but the law is discriminatory ", said Spahiu.
