The analyst, Enver Bytyçi stated that the national unification is a time bomb that causes instability, uncertainty and undermines peace in the region.
Invited to A2 CNN, Bytyçi said that this issue is not in the interest of Albanians as it means that Albania joins half of Kosovo and its other half joins Serbia. He emphasizes that everyone should commit to strengthening the state of Kosovo and not play with people's emotions.
"Kurti brought back the thesis of national unification for emotional and electoral reasons to tell his voters, but I don't believe that Kurti himself believes that today it is on the agenda, or a trend, to talk about national unification. What we should do is preach the strengthening of the state of Kosovo. We should not play with the emotions of people who are at a mediocre level and benefit electorally, but see where the interests of Kosovo and Albania are, and any attempt at national unification means half of Kosovo with Albania and the other half of Kosovo with Serbia and the exclusion of all Albanian territories in the Balkans. This is not in the interest of the Albanians, but this is a time bomb that causes instability, uncertainty and undermines peace in the region. As long as Kosovo is not a member of the OBK, it will have to be forbidden to mention it, but later the idea of national unity will fade even among the citizens. Albania and Albanians are not harmed by the existence of Kosovo."said the analyst.
Bytyçi also emphasized that the international community is not united in the undoing of the Kosovo state, but supports it.
"The international community supports Kosovo, it is not united in the division and undoing of the state of Kosovo despite the fact that some elements are interested in this. I do not even agree with the statements of some Kosovo politicians. Everyone should commit to strengthening Kosovo's citizenship and not talk about national unity. I am against these statements," Bytyçi declared.
