The Police Supervision Agency in Tirana has detained police officer Admir Elezi, suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Abuse of office" and "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth".
According to the AMP, police officer Admir Elezi, acting as Judicial Police Officer at Police Commissariat No. 3, Tirana, did not act in accordance with standard work procedures, influencing the disposal of evidence after the arrest of the citizen with the initials H.SH, from whom a metal stick suspected of being a cold weapon was found and seized during the technical control.
Meanwhile, AMP also announces that investigations are still ongoing to fully elucidate this event.
"The Police Supervision Agency (Tirana Region) has on its own initiative detained the police officer Deputy Commissioner Admir Elezi, acting as Judicial Police Officer at Police Station No. 3, Tirana, suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Abuse of office" and "Actions that impede the discovery of the truth" provided for by articles 248 and 301 of the Criminal Code.
His arrest was made possible after on 10.03.2026 he carried out the arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen H.SH, from whom, during the technical check, a metal stick suspected of being a cold weapon was found and seized.
While carrying out procedural actions to administer the item, the police officer did not act in accordance with standard work procedures, resulting in the misappropriation of evidence.
"Investigations are ongoing to fully elucidate this incident," the announcement states.
