Lezha and Tirana were bloodied yesterday in a series of assassinations linked to Roan Brahimaj, the central figure of a criminal saga that knows no borders. Initially, his father was killed in Lezha, while just a few hours later, in Lundër, Tirana, an assassination attempt on his wife injured four people, including two minor children. These serious events highlight the power of criminal groups and the inability of the authorities to stop the cycle of violence...
Lezha and Tirana were severely shaken by two consecutive attacks, which have brought back into focus the fierce conflicts between criminal groups, which for years have turned the country into a bloody arena.
At noon on April 17, 2025, Gjovalin Prendi, the father of Roan Brahimaj (also known as Roan Brahimi), was executed in front of his bar in Lezha. The perpetrators, still unidentified, acted with precision and speed, shooting him in the chest and leaving him lifeless on the spot. Gjovalin Prendi was the father of Roan Brahimaj, a character with a serious criminal history, executed in a mafia assassination in Athens, on May 9, 2024.
Only 3 to 4 hours after this assassination, in Lundë, Tirana, another assassination attempt, this time against Roan Brahimaj's wife, turned into a tragedy, seriously injuring four people, including two minors. This incident is a frightening indication of the ruthless war between rival groups and the inability of the authorities to prevent chain revenges.
Roan Brahimaj, the central figure in this criminal saga, had a rich history of violent conflicts and accusations of involvement in some of the most serious criminal events in Albania. He had strong hostile ties with Ervis Martinaj and was suspected of being part of the assassinations that have shaken the country in recent years, such as those against Ylli Ibrahimi, Klisman Preçi and Brilant Martinaj.
The assassination of his wife and the murder of his father show that the consequences of Roan Brahimaj's criminal conflicts continue even after his death, putting the lives of family members at risk and involving innocent people in a seemingly endless cycle of revenge.
These events should serve as an alarm for law enforcement authorities to intervene decisively and stop this spiral of violence that is taking the lives of innocent people and holding public safety hostage in Albania./ Pamphlet
