The show "Stop" is set in Fier as Mrs. Afërdita Kapllani reveals that after the death of her father-in-law, a conflict began with her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law, who no longer wanted the bride to go down to the first floor of Afërdita's husband's house.
" I am Afërdita Kapllani, I have been living in Ireland for 25 years now. We have built a house here for 28 years with my husband Kundret, but a conflict arose between us in December 2023 with my mother-in-law and my sisters-in-law. The house is in my husband's name, the husband financed it, but we also took my parents from their house that they had built themselves and where both parents lived. My father-in-law has been dead for 3 years and my mother-in-law lives there. For the entire time we have been outside Albania, we have paid the contribution to my father-in-law and mother-in-law, as is customary. He is an only child and we pay all the contribution to my father-in-law. At that time, their daughter, our sister-in-law, was withdrawing the money. The moment we realized that my parents had no income and their lifestyle was not as we financed it, at that moment my husband stopped financing. This is where the debate began. A year ago, I was "A brother had an accident, he passed away, and when I come here, they bring the police to tell me not to go to the first floor, not to provide any kind of service or help to their mother. I left it as they wanted it to avoid conflict ," the complainant, Afërdita Kapllani, tells the microphone of the "Stop" show.
The sister-in-law and mother-in-law have filed several complaints against Aphrodite, claiming that the latter raped her mother-in-law. Aphrodite denies ever having done such a thing.
" My sister-in-law and mother-in-law go to the police time and time again and make false accusations. They have brought the police to me 5 times, they have gone 2 times and filed a complaint against me, that I allegedly raped my mother-in-law. Each time the police have come, they have verified that my mother-in-law is not raped. Because I have cameras there for 13 years that my husband had brought for home security, but also to watch my parents. From 2023 to 2024, they have broken the cameras 4 times. My relationship with my mother-in-law was very good before without any problems. When I would come 2-3 weeks, I would spend 4-5 days doing my mother-in-law's chores to keep the house tidy because she was old. I have a 90-year-old mother myself and I don't feel good that she doesn't get the service for these. Why should I be before the law for an act that is not in character, morality and education "I am 57 years old, I have 3 sons and 3 daughters-in-law ," adds Afërdita Kapllani.
The elderly woman herself, Drita, claims that she was not raped by her daughter-in-law, but she has resentment.
Journalist: Has your wife ever raped you?
Mother-in-law: My daughter-in-law and I have explained ourselves there, in court and with the police. I have nothing more to explain, leave me alone! We have made the accusations, the police have come, we have explained ourselves, we have even gone to Tirana. The police have come 100 times. Daughter-in-laws are daughters-in-law, they don't love their mother-in-law.
Journalist: Did he rape you?
Mother-in-law: He didn't beat me to beat me, but he asked me to leave. Leave me alone because I know my own troubles.
Journalist: Why did you break the cameras here?
Mother-in-law: Why should I keep them on, so that he can hear what I say! Why do I need cameras in my house?!
Through security cameras, the mother-in-law can be heard cursing and threatening her daughter-in-law and son, saying that she will even cut off their hand to accuse them.
" Father had a wife. Where did he leave his wife? In your eyes, so that they can come out? Oh my mask...! What is that ugliness doing to you.... Bring the police to the maid. What is wrong with you, maid, oh mask! Oh mask! Yes, I have protected you, you dog! Yes, I will cut off your hand and put you in! Inside there, dog! May you die there in prison! Find money, don't eat the money ", the old woman is heard saying.
The most flagrant act is when the mother-in-law and sister-in-law break the cameras, to eliminate evidence of violence and staging.
